This was an interesting project to finish because I took some of these pictures at home which was a first for any photo project in this class. I wasn’t very good at setting up different color pictures in class but I did try my hand a few times. In my house I just tried to capture different things that had diverse colors to mixed success. I’m not a great photographer so I just take close ups of things and focus on them to maybe make an interesting composition. I think that to have a more successful project I could have gotten more pictures from outside in the SOTA area. Overall wasn’t a terrible project.

Mundane Project
This project could be mundane at times but overall it was pretty enjoyable especially when we went to the public market. I liked to take pictures of things that had rust because they are classically ugly but can add texture and color to a composition that could potentially make it beautiful and interesting to look at. I tried to have sense of symmetry in some of my pictures and most of them are close ups. The best pictures I took had a lot of texture and interesting patterns. I was inspired by Christopher Shaffer’s blue eyes and his crystalline facial hair structure. I was also inspired by the beautiful weather and the potential beauty of Rochester. Overall this project was solid and I had fun doing it.

T shirt Project
This was an enjoyable project because we had a lot of freedom and were able to do what we wanted. I like the aesthetics of the kabuki masks so I had a good time creating this project. I took elements from other masks but the one I made for the shirt is original. I made one side and then copied and reflected it to get the most symmetry possible in the design. I was originally going to put it on a black shirt with a white mask but I then decided to make it a white shirt so only the aesthetics and eye holes of the mask are visible. I think this is a cool effect. Overall I think this was a relatively successful project.
